I specialize in the Downtown/North Main area of Columbia. Within the city limits of Columbia, Short Term Rentals are heavily regulated, especially via zoning. As of 2026, In the city limits, new STRs are limited to areas zoned commercial or on 4 lane highways. This excludes any new permits for properties that are zoned residential.
Permit
Major components which I provide for my clients are: a permit, business license, safety guidelines, and adherence to guest maximum of 2 per bedroom plus 2. More detailed info is provided by the City of Columbia Code Enforcement Division.
